I am sitting here with the computer while Donovan eats his breakfast. He successfully smeared banana all in his hair securing himself a bath for the day. If I ever run out of hair gel I will know to just use banana, looks like it works the same way. Anyway, my thought for blogging is to think about what's in a blog? Is it all about me and my family? Is it silly to tell everyone whats going on in our lives? Should I be more interesting? Have more topics? Well, here is what I decided.
Blogging is whatever I want to make it. I enjoy telling people about whats going on in our lives. I enjoy sharing how God is working and how Donovan is growing to love Him. I enjoy sharing about my pregnancy and the upcoming arrival of our new bundle of joy. I also want to learn though. I want to teach too. I want people to be able to learn from us and likewise me learning from you all. For instance, I am planning on homeschooling my children and am taking advantage of the early years to find just the right curriculum for us. Does anyone have any advice? Does anyone like one more than the other? What is everyone using so I can go look it up?
I just this morning found what I may use for an early Bible curriculum. Its on grapevine.com. Obviously the website may not have the same belief system that I do, but they say the way they created their system is so people can input their own beliefs and not have to stick solely to theirs. I like the idea of having the kids draw out the story. Obviously I need to research it more, but I think it is worthy of that.
Anyway, these are a few of my thoughts for the morning. I am off to start a load of laundry and then spend some time in the Word of God and time with my little manny. :)
I am thankful for the many blessings that God grants me. I am also thankful that today is Bratwurst day at Miller's Quality Meats and Catering!
I don't have any experience personally homeschooling but you should check out The Pioneer Woman's website. There is a tab dedicated to homeschooling and I'm sure it's full of possible resources.
