Today has been a really good day. I have been able to clean the house, make a deliecious smelling dinner, have my dad help me install a new doorknob, and enjoy time with my son. The one thing I have really enjoyed about today is that I have taken time throughout the day to take pictures! I hardly ever remember to take pictures of Donovan, and I feel bad because I want to remember these times and then when we fall into large amounts of money I want to get them developed and remember physically the growth process of my boy. I haven't put them on the computer yet, but when I do, I will share a few on here!
I have been learning to just enjoy what time I have with people. I have learned that it is much easier to be happy if I stop worrying about tomorrow or next week or next month and just enjoy the time I have now. After all, we aren't even guranteed tomorrow, so why worry about it?! My little man smiles now, sometimes it takes a bit of work, but he will smile at me and it just melts my heart. I love it when he does that. He also has a feature that is cute now, but will not be in the near future. Right before he really starts crying he will stick out his bottom lip as far as it can go and wimper! I have been trying to get a picture of this because his facial expression is just adorable, but I have not been able to yet.
Caleb is working 6 days next week, so I will be looking for things to do. There is a new used bookstore here in Crawfordsville, and I know the owners, so I may go hang out there for a couple of the days. Other than that, I really don't have any major plans. I went with my mom yesterday to Lafayette and we got a few "warm" things for Donovan. It was cool a couple of days last week and all he has is shorts and t-shirts. So we went to Target and I got him a few long-sleeved onesies and a zip-up hooded sweatshirt for those cool mornings or evenings. Right now he is sleeping contentedly on the couch. I have been putting him in his bed to nap, but I cannot get him to sleep back there for more than 30 minutes, but if he is on the couch or in his bassinet he will sleep for close to two hours. Any tips on how to get him to sleep longer in his bed? He is only getting up twice at night now, so here in the next couple of weeks I would like to move him to his bed all night long, any advice on how to make that transition easier also?
Guess I better go get a few more things done while D is sleeping! Hope you all have a GREAT Labor Day weekend!
